La Navona Wedding

Many times on the wedding day we wear many hats. We're definitely always photographer but sometimes a situation warrants being the wedding planner, venue coordinator or stand-in bridesmaid. I mean, I've adjusted garters, fixed back cleavage (you know, when your back gets squeezed into a dress that's really tight?), cut strings from inside bras, bustled more than one ball gown.. I'm a professional everything at this point in my career. But I love it. I get close to my couples, my brides especially. After we shoot engagement photos and boudoir photos and I spend 6 or 7 hours with you on your wedding day...aaaaaaaand a couple of those times together I've seen you mostly naked... *shrugs* I'm like extended family after all that!

Corey and Doug's wedding day was no exception. We had their 6 hours of time maxed out as far as what we needed to accomplish in that time and boy, did we press it!? When I walk into a wedding day I know that I have a timeline in my pocket and that someone has to make sure we stick to that timeline, especially if there isn't much wiggle room in the timeline, or if the couple has to  be out of the venue by a specific time. And that someone is usually me. I love when my venue people tell me there's no way we will make the timeline happen and then we not only do, but with time to spare! I love a good challenge!

We always leave a little bit of time for things to happen. Someone will always be running late. But it's no big deal! Family formal photos might take a little longer to finish, but that's okay too! We have to be flexible, right? Otherwise, we will need to pass out Xanax with every slice of cake! ;)

La Navona was a beautiful venue. Unfortunately, as it does in Ohio sometimes, it rained ALLLLLLL day so the ceremony had to be held inside and we were only able to go out for a few minutes during the day to take photos. It was such a bummer because they have an amazing patio with cantina lights and a beautiful arbor but it was really raining. The indoor ceremony though.. . I'm telling you, those flowers from Flowerama and the candelabras on the tables were absolutely stunning. I couldn't stop photographing them!  I loved everything about this venue. The getting ready areas were great... the bar was really cool...  the main space is amazing! I can't wait to shoot there again this fall!
