Intimate Hocking Hills Wedding
I’m sure one of the common misconceptions about wedding planning is that you have to spend a lot of money to make it special. And that everything should be elaborate for it to to be “nice”. I will be one of the first people to tell you, that just isn’t true. Some of the most wonderful weddings I have been a part of have been the small, intimate weddings where there are less than 50 guests and the details are personal, unique, wonderful touches to a day that is planned around celebrating two peoples’ love for each other and nothing else.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a big, 300 guest gala with lots of fresh florals and a 6 tier wedding cake. Like, LOVE them. But I also love the tiny, little intimate family ceremonies as well. If all weddings were the same my job would be boring af. I like walking into a wedding day not knowing what the details are, what the centerpieces will look like, what the dresses and the menswear will look like. They’re always different. That keeps my job exciting and keeps my creative juices flowing. Just give me all the weddings :)
High school sweethearts, Jamie and Bryan’s wedding was the perfect definition of intimate and personal. They rented a cabin in the Hocking Hills where they and their bridal party stayed the night before the wedding and then they got married on the beautiful porch of the cabin the next day. The porch overlooked a stunning splay of fall colors as they said their vows in the presence of their closest friends and some immediate family. And then we headed to Ash Cave in the Old Man’s Cave region for their formal photos and some incredible portraits of the two of them together as husband and wife. When we returned to the cabin, their family had changed their mini-ceremony space into an absolutely lovely family style, candle-lit reception table. It was so perfect.
Jamie and Bryan, thank you for choosing me. I knew, the day I met your quirky selves, that your wedding day would be special. We enjoyed it so much and wish you every joy and happiness in your lives together <3
